There’s another move afoot to rename the Department of the Navy to the Department of the Navy and Marine Corps.
The issue revolves around this curious practice: Families of Marines killed in action receive condolence letters from the secretary of the Navy, with no mention of the Marine Corps in the letterhead. Proponents of the bill want to change this.
This bill has been around a while and while the intent has merit I’ve gotta wonder if a simple administrative approach would cause a lot less potential confusion.
Just change the letter head as needed!
